What is the teaching method used in the courses?

Our courses are spread over five weeks. Each week is divided into 1-2 hours of pre-recorded learning material, and 2 hours of live sessions.

The learning material can be watched anytime on the course website. 

The live sessions are on Zoom and provide an opportunity to get to know other participants, ask questions, and present group assignments. The live sessions are recorded, so you can watch them later if you are not able to attend.


What happens if I can’t attend one or more live sessions?

Is there any homework?

The course is designed to allow you to complete most of the material at your own pace. During the course, you will be assigned to a group in order to complete a short project together. 

Group participation is not mandatory, but it is fun!

When are the live sessions?

The live sessions of the Q3 2021 Future-Proof Office Course will be on Thursdays, 9am ET on June 24 and July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29.  


How much time do I have to complete the course?

The course runs for five weeks. However, you will have access to the learning material for a whole year. You can complete it at your own pace.

Do I get a certificate for completing the course?

Yes. Once you complete all the core learning material, you will receive a certificate that you can add to your LinkedIn profile and resumes. Your employers can verify the certificate online. 

Does the course provide any networking opportunities?

Yes. Participants get to know each other during the live session and on our online community platform. All participants also get to join quarterly events with hundreds of alumni from past and current cohorts.

What is the difference between the Office and Housing course?

Both courses aim to equip participants with the context, contacts, and confidence required to thrive in the decade ahead.

  1. Both courses cover general theories and frameworks about innovation, the evolution of technology, assessing the changing needs of customers, and financing new initiatives. These are presented differently in each course, emphasizing the insights that are relevant to the specific sector.  
  2. Each course focuses on the business models that are relevant to its sector (e.g. housing will include Coliving, distributed hospitality, automation of residential communities, while office will include coworking, hybrid workplaces, etc.) 
  3. Each course includes case studies about specific initiatives, deal structures, and projects by companies that are active in that sector (e.g. AvalonBay and Common in housing, Hines and WeWork in office)
  4. Each course attracts participants that focus on different asset types. Each course allows you to network and learn from the specific experiences of participants that face similar challenges and dilemmas to yours. 

Participants in both courses get access to our online community and quarterly virtual meetups. The community includes hundreds of past and present participants from all courses.
